When we Rekey a lock we simply change the pin combination inside the lock cylinder so that your old lock functions with a new key. Most store bought locks can be picked/bypassed however if the lock is a high security brand then they are considered pick resistant and drill resistant if installed correctly. We as locksmiths are trained to bypass any lock on the door.
A master key is a key used to override all doors in a building.
