    When we Rekey a lock we simply change the pin combination inside the lock cylinder so that your old lock functions with a new key. This process will not increase the security of your lock however it does provide you with peace of mind that the old keys do not work and the new Keys that are provided with the lock are the only Keys in circulation. We recommend that you Rekey your lock the minute you take possession of a new home, prior to moving any valuables in.     • Can you pick any lock?

    Most store bought locks can be picked/bypassed however if the lock is a high security brand then they are considered pick resistant and drill resistant if installed correctly. We as locksmiths are trained to bypass any lock on the door.

    • What is a master key?

    A master key is a key used to override all doors in a building. In a properly designed master key system we have individual keys that we call “change keys' ' these keys operate their designated doors. However the Master key will work on them all.     • Can a master key be copied?

    Most generic master key’s can in fact be copied. However if it is a High Security Lock like our Abloy Protec Locks then they are in fact 100% restricted under the life of the patent.     A padlock is a u-shaped, portable lock with a body, a shackle, and a locking mechanism. The shackle passes through openings such as a hasp staple or a chain link to prevent harm, theft, or vandalism. When locked, the shackle fits securely into the locking mechanism, and when unlocked, the shackle ejects from the locking mechanism. Padlocks can use either a combination or a key.

    Ownership. You need to identify the make, model, and year of your car and provide the vehicle identification number (VIN). Also, if you lost your original key, the locksmith can reprogram your car and make the old key unusable.
